Gynaecology Services and Surgeries

Gynaecology is a medical specialty that focuses on the female reproductive system, including the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, cervix, and vagina.

Gynaecology encompasses many health issues, including menstrual problems, fertility issues, menopause, sexually transmitted infections, and gynaecological cancers. A gynaecologist’s role is to ensure that women receive appropriate and comprehensive care for their reproductive health.

Diagnostic Tests

We recognize the importance of timely diagnosis of gynaecological issues. Diagnostic Laparoscopy and Diagnostic Hysteroscopy are important diagnostic tests we use to evaluate the female reproductive system and detect various gynaecological conditions.

These minimally invasive procedures are associated with fewer complications, faster recovery times, and better outcomes compared to traditional open surgeries.

Diagnostic Laparoscopy:

Diagnostic laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that allows the gynaecologist to visualize the organs inside the abdomen and pelvis. In this procedure, a laparoscope is inserted through a tiny incision in the abdomen. The camera sends images to a monitor, allowing the gynaecologist to examine the uterus, ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other organs in the pelvic region.

Diagnostic laparoscopy can diagnose and treat various gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis, ovarian cysts, ectopic pregnancy, and pelvic inflammatory disease. It can also be used to assess fertility issues, such as tubal patency, and to evaluate the extent of gynaecological cancers.

Diagnostic Hysteroscopy:

Diagnostic hysteroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that allows the gynaecologist to examine the inside of the uterus. A hysteroscope is inserted through the cervix into the uterus during the procedure. The hysteroscope sends images to a monitor, allowing the gynaecologist to examine the uterine lining and detect any abnormalities.

Diagnostic hysteroscopy can be used to diagnose and treat various gynaecological conditions, including abnormal uterine bleeding, uterine fibroids, polyps, and adhesions. It can also assess the uterine cavity before infertility treatment or remove abnormal tissue for biopsy.

Endometrial Sampling:

This is a diagnostic procedure involving the removal of a small sample of tissue from the lining of the uterus for laboratory analysis. It is performed to evaluate abnormal uterine bleeding, such as heavy or irregular menstrual periods, postmenopausal bleeding, or bleeding between periods. Endometrial sampling can help diagnose conditions such as endometrial hyperplasia, endometrial cancer, and other uterine abnormalities.
