Endometriosis is an enigmatic disease described as chronic, fibrotic and hormone depen- dent disease of many theories that really affects a woman’s wellbeing and quality of life.
Presenting mainly with pain conditions, infertility and heavy menstrual bleeding, endome- triosis is often debilitating, progressive and many times recurrent.
Let’s go through the various forms of this complex condition – ovarian, S.P.E and D.I.E.
along often with adenomyosis as we take you through the surgical steps of this complex
situation.
We plan to operate on around 10 women suffering from endometriosis and adenomyosis
as we take you through the step by step approach for D.I.E. Surgery.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
This medical course exposes the trainees to the following:Â
- To properly diagnose a D.I.E. patient.
- Planning a D.I.E. surgery with the MDT.
- What constitutes a proper informed consent for D.I.E. surgery.
- Theatre set up and patient preparation for surgery.
- Principles of D.I.E. surgery and the relevant anatomy.
